This time of the year certainly has its pros and cons. I love the festive atmosphere and to snuggle up inside with candles and tea, but the bitter cold weather really has its downsides. In the morning you can’t get up easily, it’s most of the time quite grey and dark outside and you don’t really feel like dressing up on the normal days (Christmas parties excluded). There is an ocean of black clothes on the streets, since it seems to be more practical, but if you don’t want to be part of the “dark side”, there are so many great warm and practical options in light colors.
The obvious choice is a snuggly pullover in a light color that’s warm and cozy. The Club Monaco one I’m wearing is definitely the perfect pick since it has all of these attributes, looks incredibly good and has a great quality. Furthermore you can find Duckboots (and also Hunter boots) in so many colors. I especially love these light quilted ones by Sperry. They are so so comfortable and warm, bad weather appropriate but still fashionable, and there won’t be a day where you don’t want to wear them. For jackets and coats I mostly have camel colored wool coats that go with absolutely everything and I recently bought this Barbour light beige quilted jacket for days I’m in a preppy mood. There you have your light colored options that are practical, warm and weatherproof but don’t make you blend into the dark winter surrounding.
